Cheryl Hutmacher

Cheryl's love of yoga asana began over fifteen years ago when she learned that even more than making her feel great, regular yoga practice significantly improved her life off of her mat. She had less anxiety and more patience.

She was less reactive and more present in her interactions with those she loved. It wasn't long before she wanted to share this with others. In 2009, she received her 200-hour RYT through Breath and Body Yoga in Austin, TX. She is grateful to have had the opportunity to train with many knowledgeable and talented teachers from whom she continues to learn about anatomy, biomechanics, yoga philosophy, breathwork, and so much more. She is fascinated by the human body and loves that there will always be more to learn about it. Currently in the process of completing her 500 hr RYT with Yoga Medicine, she is looking forward to becoming a certified Therapeutic Yoga Specialist. Inspired by our collective need for connection and community, she opened Juicy Power Yoga in 2018.

She is abundantly grateful for the teachers and students who show up and make Juicy a safe and welcoming space for others to connect with each other and their breath and move their bodies. Cheryl encourages her students to be in co-creation on their mats. She is passionate about helping students tweak the practice to fit their individual needs and unique anatomy and to learn to trust in the inherent wisdom of their bodies. Some of Cheryl's favorite things are: the sky, trees, a good story (on the page, screen, or put to music), and being with her family. Some of her least favorite things are: lack of empathy towards others, the word "slacks" (it's just yuck) and writing about herself in the third person.
